A day in Udaipur - part 3

Women washing clothes on a ghat on Lake Pichola

Good view of Udaipur palace complex
By  now it was almost 4:30 and we were getting weary.  Kenneth wanted to find sunglasses to replace the favorites that disappeared at the Orlando airport and I was no longer passionate about seeing a puppet show at the folk art museum or even shops with wonderful handicraft. So back to the challenge and amazement of Udaipur roads, and our serene local home. Some snaps on the way:

The people living here were cooking around open fires when we went out to dinner.
Do you love how I merged K with the elephant?!

The view at 5:20 p.m.
We crashed for an hour. At 7:15 our dear driver returned to take us to the Oberoi for dinner. The hotel chain has a reputation as the ne plus ultra - and lived up to my expectations. From a spectacular site to a truly awesome design to the details of service, "uniforms," and food, all was perfection. What a treat to wrap up our Udaipur visit here.

A day that begins with live music should end with more, no?
I walked down to the shore and saw the palace from a new perspective
An extraordinary modern version of a "miniature"
Well, of course I could have snapped forever here. But it was time to close the day. I hope you've enjoyed the "ride" as much as we have! Tomorrow (well, it's now 5:40 am. - today) should be easier to report, as we drive to Jodhpur with just one sightseeing stop!
